Melody's heart rate was up this morning, and her oxygen was low, so they sent
her in for a CT scan to check for pulmonary embolism, and that came back
negative. Her heart rate has dropped and her oxygen risen, and the floor doctor
says that she is doing amazingly well after over 7 1/2 hours of surgery.
They are still staging her cancer, but the doc said it's probably stage 2 or 3,
which we're taking as very good news (we were previously told they suspect stage
3, so we're hopeful for a downgrade!).
I'm with her today until they kick me out. Brought her favorite pillow, which
elicited a long sigh of relief. I brought a photo of the grandkids and hung some
pictures Emma & Gavin made for her to make her feel a bit more at home.
She's in good spirits (good enough to boss me around!) 😉, but she's very tired
and too weak to talk much, so please continue to communicate through me.
If you don't hear from me, consider that good news/nothing to report.
Nevertheless, I'll send out at least a daily update through her hospital stay.
Let me know if you tire of my bloviations and I'll take you off the list, no
worries!
She is now sleeping peacefully, and is not in pain. What a relief! There's a lot
of whewing going on 'round here!
Love to you all!
Glen
